Maria Maleta delivers us good news with its new collection that responds to the needs of modern era. The timeless and versatile pieces come both in high-quality leather and recycled or recyclable vegan materials.

Maria Maleta is known as a Portuguese brand of design leather goods, that works with genuine leather underlining the quality of raw materials and the best production of Portugal. The brand was created by two best friends so different from each other, that it made them believe that every person has two personal sides. Most of their products reflect that versatility as they can be used in many different ways.

The brand wants to remind us that there are also good news and beautiful things to be done at this time, and shares the details of its newly launched timeless collection with new, interesting features.

The Weekend bags in nude and black are made from vegetable-tanned leather and recyclable synthetic materials.

"This is a collection that is not based on trends but on the urgency of buying what you need.

NO SEASON COLLECTION is an annual and timeless collection with seven new models with several combinations, providing a range of options for the whole year. It’s focused on transparent, informed and conscious consumption responding to the demands of the new era. The aesthetics of the collection is combining a balance between straight and minimalist lines with special care in choosing the right materials.

The Paper bag is made using Bio leather and a recyclable and waterproof synthetic material. It can be used a a shoulder bag or as a crossbody bag, and comes in four different colour and material combinations.

The new features in the collection include textiles produced from recycled polyester and plastic, biodegradable synthetic aniline, waterproof materials and 100% recyclable materials. These new features highlight the concept of circular economy that the brand has been standing up for.

The collection represents a fusion between the new generation fabrics, recycled and recyclable materials, and one of the oldest and most renowned raw material – durable and resistant genuine leather.

Vegetable-tanned leather and Bio leather, both produced in Portugal, continue to be an integral part of the brand. The brand believes that sustainability is synonymous of durability, and the use of leather can guarantee a long lifetime to the products. A crucial policy of Maria Maleta is to only use leather that is a by-product of the food industry. In the new collection all the leather used is additionally environmentally-friendly, biodegradable and allergy-free.

The bum bag comes in two different colour combinations, made from different materials. The black & grey & white bag is made from recycled and recyclable vegan materials, and the black & beige from vegetable-tanned leather.

"We only use synthetic materials that can add value to our products. They have to be recyclable and/or recycled.

Maria Maleta, by far only having worked with genuine leather, has now also accepted the challenge and included three vegan pieces in the new collection. The pieces are made of materials that are either or both recycled, recyclable and biodegradable.

The Drawstring bag is lightweight and made of recycled and recyclable vegan materials. It can be used in three different ways.

The brand's collections are based on circular economy thinking. Maria Maleta believes that durability is one of the most important factors and always looks for the best materials – this is why they offer a lifetime warranty for all their leather products. Additionally, the brand has a new program in which customers can reuse their old Maria Maleta pieces by sending them to the brand to be turned into a new bag or alternatively, they can choose to have a 10€ voucher as an exchange for the used bag.

“We are moved by friendship, transparency and the preservation of informed and conscious purchases. What moves you?
