Amsterdam-based Semi/Romantic produces high-quality luxury lingerie.
Sustainability is at the heart of Semi/Romantic, but the brand has a lot more to say. The beautiful and timeless lingerie and its materials are as different as the women who wear them.
Semi/Romantic makes its products from super-soft jerseys to delicate lace - but always ethically. The products are made by women for women in the Sylvan factory in Portugal. Tencel® Lenzing is a silky touch on your skin and lace certified by Iluna in Italy is as responsible and high quality as lace can be.
Semi/Romantic calls its production 'magic hands'. The Sylvan factory is located in a small village in the centre of Portugal and employs 60 professionals, most of them women.
Sylvan's core values of cooperation and community have been at the heart of the factory since its foundation almost 40 years ago. Alongside state-of-the-art machinery, the women who work in production are uniquely skilled and meticulous at every stage, from pattern-making to sewing, detailed finishing, and product dispatch.
Semi/Romantic was born out of friendship more than a decade ago. This happened in Milan, where the brand's founders Donna and Alexa met. The passionate conversation between the two fashion students took concrete form at Semi/Romantic.
Donna and Alexa are not worried about future trends and passing trends, because Semi/Romantic is a long-term project. The brand wants to offer not only lovely lingerie, but also a lifestyle where you can be your best self.
Semi/Romantic looks and feels good, but best of all - it does something good. Everyone who wears Semi/Romantic is an ambassador of dreams, responsibility and empowerment.
