METSÄ Merino Base Beanie Engineered for versatility, this slim-profile beanie features a 1×1 rib knit construction that sits comfortably beneath helmets and during high-output activities. Spun from 100% merino wool using Total Easy Care yarn, it delivers natural breathability, moisture regulation, and thermal retention—even in damp conditions. The fiber's inherent UV properties make it equally suited to summer exposure and winter layering. Produced in Kangasala, Finland using a zero-waste model that recycles surplus from merino production, each beanie is durable through repeated 40°C machine washing. Mulesing-free and built to perform across seasons.

Care Instructions

The most important care for merino wool is airing. Wash merino products less frequently, as wool is naturally self-cleaning and dirt-repellent.

Wash with similar colors
Use a laundry bag
Machine wash at 40°C on a wool cycle, inside out
Use a mild, neutral detergent designed for wool
Do not tumble dry
Avoid fabric softener, as it weakens wool’s natural properties
Dry flat on a towel to retain shape
Store folded; hanging may stretch the garment

For long-term storage, keep the merino wool product in a sealed bag to protect it from moths and fabric beetles. Proper storage helps maintain the product’s quality year after year.
