Econyl - from ocean waste to swimwear
Understatement’s bikinis and swimsuits are made mostly from Econyl – a recycled polyamide material. It feels and looks like the swimwear fabric we all are familiar with, but is actually made of plastic waste collected from oceans and landfills. Also many other swimwear brands at IVALO.COM use Econyl in their products.
The trend of using Econyl as an innovative fashion material has been set by Stella McCartney, among others. The climate impact of this material is 80% lesser than the impact of traditional nylon. Moreover, Econyl can be recycled and re-recycled over and over again without the end product losing any of its quality.

The ambition of Understatement is that all of their lingerie and swimwear come with perfect comfort and fit. Understatement bikinis contain some amount of elastane in addition to Econyl – they are stretchable and easy to put on and take off. The material feels soft and nice against the skin.

Multiple designs and gorgeous colors
Understatement’s bikini selection contains many designs. The bikini tops have sporty options as well as beautiful triangle designs, also with wider underband.
The bikini bottoms come in two different designs: high waist and lowrider. Lowrider is a sporty low-cut, while a high waist gives more tummy coverage. High waist bikini bottoms have been trendy already for a couple of summers.
The tops and bottoms are sold separately – feel free to combine them as you like. The designs are available in awesome shades of black, grey, red, yellow, lilac, and green.
