IVALO.COM's new Sustainable Stars blog concept highlights well-known pioneering brands in sustainable fashion.
The Finnish circular economy brand Globe Hope deserves its rightful place in the blog series.
Globe Hope is an exemplary pioneer of sustainable fashion, aiming to serve a wide audience.
Two decades ago, only pioneers had woken up to the need for sustainable fashion.
Even then, Globe Hope founder Seija Lukkala was inspired by products that did not require the use of new raw materials.
At the beginning of the millennium, Globe Hope wanted to be a better alternative that could be chosen and used to support the idea of a circular economy.
In 2023, Globe Hope marks 20 years in the business. The brand has forged its own courageous path through change, crisis and diverse years.
Today, a new world is around us, awakening on a larger scale to the limits of our environment's carrying capacity.
Globe Hope is celebrating its 20th anniversary this spring with a bright light. The headwinds of the corona and the economic crisis have not discouraged the pioneer.
Globe Hope's new CEO Jan Timm Utecht says the brand is increasingly focusing on circular economy ideology and the use of recycled materials.
"In addition to surplus materials, we will increasingly manufacture products from recycled fibres, as this will allow us to produce slightly larger batches. Scalable production makes it easier to change the world."
"I believe that the corona crisis has further increased Finland's attractiveness to the world. We have many things going quite well. Finnish design is highly valued and internationalization is also in Globe Hope's thoughts for the future."
Globe Hope will celebrate its official birthday in May 2023, when customers and partners will be invited to join the celebrations at Globe Hope's store in Kaivopiha, Helsinki.
Globe Hope will also share its goodness with others. Charity will continue to be the focus of the anniversary year.
Globe Hope's power and energy will be used to prevent deforestation and desertification, support Ukraine, plant trees and improve global employment for women.
"Only 15 years ago, an eco-friendly or sustainable product might have been enough for the conscious consumer. Now, you also need individuality and design," says Jan Timm Utecht.
Sustainability and philanthropy are a way of existence for Globe Hope, but for customers, for a brand they can trust, it's a bonus.
Globe Hope wants to invest in design to create long-lasting bags, accessories and clothes that give the customer style and genuine utility value in their lives.
"Seatbelt products and accessories in general are still a really popular product category for us. There are plenty of used seatbelts and the material is practically everlasting. This spring, the special colours have already generated a lot of excitement!
We will also increase the clothing side of our business to be a serviced and holistic lifestyle brand."
