Description

A sneaker for which no natural raw materials needed to be harvested and which is entirely made of recycled and reused materials. Without compromising on comfort or design. Officially PETA-approved.

Designed in Belgium, and carefully produced in Portugal (EU).

Materials

Upper: vegan apple leather.

Apple leather is made of apple waste (peels & cores). An ecological and vegan alternative to leather. 55% apple waste, 40% synthetic resin, 5% PU.

Sole: 100% recycled rubber.
Lining & Laces: recycled cotton & plastic bottles.
Insole: removable insole made from flexible recycled carbon.
Carbon is a plant-based supermaterial that has absorbing properties.

Size & Fit

The Komrads APL’s are ‘true to its size’. If you are not sure which size to take, take one size bigger – but only if you are between sizes (e.g. 39,5)! But first… check the size guide.

Wash & Care

Use a damp cloth to clean your sneakers.
Not recommend washing your KOMRADS in the washing machine.

Greet and Mark, the founders of Komrads, are tennis shoe addicts, friends of the world, and above all, caring parents.

Belgian-based Komrads is one alternative to dressing up whose authentic products seek to rebuild the world instead of destroying it.

The more Greet and Mark got to know the production processes of the clothing industry, the more questions they had about it. The pollution from production, water roofs, sweatshops, carbon emissions, and destroyed rainforests were unimaginable things to understand.

Out of shock and wonder grew the starting point of a dream. Since then, Komrads has gone on to make comfortable, fashionable sneakers that don't require the destruction of nature or human suffering.

Komrads' sneakers are made entirely from reused and recycled materials. Komrads' sneakers are a genuine solution to a huge problem - part of the circular economy.

Komrads wants to represent and celebrate personality and individuality. It wants to be a brand and a product that everyone can feel at home in, regardless of age, race, gender, or life circumstances.
