Trendsplant's journey started together with SEAQUAL INITIATIVE back in 2019, when they converted Trendsplant's entire swimwear collection made with conventional polyester to this certified SEAQUAL® YARN made from Upcycled Marine Plastic.
The result is a swim trunk of the same quality with even quicker drying.
Both the body of the swimshorts and the inner trunk are made with SEAQUAL® YARN, they are machine washable and have a standard cut, and feature a drawstring and elastic waist for a perfect fit. Side seam pockets and back pocket with velcro closure.
SEAQUAL INITIATIVE works with NGOs, fishermen, authorities, and local communities to help clean the oceans. Marine litter from Trendsplant's beaches, ocean floor, and surface, rivers and estuaries, is collected by clean-up programs. It is then sorted into different material types and the plastic portion is cleaned and transformed into Upcycled Marine Plastic by SEAQUAL INITIATIVE partners, which is used to weave, among others, this raw material used for pants. It is fully traceable and has certificates and licenses for both raw materials.
A Trendsplant swim trunk contains around 11 plastic bottles (180 grams).
