Randy is Kuyichi's basic round neck sweater. This sweater has a raglan sleeve, meaning that the sleeves extend in one piece to the collar which gives the sweater a richer look.

Materials

100% Organic Cotton

All the cotton Kuyichi uses is 100% organic cotton. Organic crops are grown without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides and insecticides. Organic cotton is 100% pesticide free. Pesticides pollute soil and water, killing wildlife and harming communities. Creating organic cotton yarn reduces CO2 emissions by 60% compared to conventional cotton. Production & Sustainability

This product is ethically produced in Portugal. The fabric is produced by Kuyichi's partner Avelana and the cut-make-trim part is done by their partner Erius.

This product is a fully GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified product, from the organic cotton to the final make. GOTS stands for guaranteed organic practices throughout the chain, including basic social and high chemical and environmental standards. Besides that, this product is fully vegan and PETA approved.

About the brand

Kuyichi makes jeans, colleges, t-shirts etc. that are made fairly from organic cotton and it’s actually the first company that started doing that!

Kuyichi's journey started in 2000 in Peru, South America. The founders of Kuyichi, NGO Solidaridad, were exploring the cotton industry in Peru and were shocked by the pollution and the poverty they saw. 

 This wanted to change things. So, they started collaborating with local cotton farmers. They started rewarding them and everyone involved in the supply chain, for their hard work and stimulating them to produce fair and organic cotton. They also courage the farmers to stop the use of toxic chemicals.

At that time brands were not interested in buying organic fabrics or be sustainable because it was too expensive. And because of that, they founded Kuyichi.

 The most commonly worn product made of cotton is a pair of jeans. The denim industry is also one of the most polluting ones in the entire fashion industry. So they started making 100% organic denim as the first brand ever. They’re still very proud of this and making a positive change in the fashion industry.

Kuyichi was named after the Peruvian God of the rainbow, who brings color and positivity to society. They’re here to do the same in the fashion industry: they want to create a system that makes life fun and enjoyable for everyone in the chain.
