Portuguese SIZ is a women's clothing brand founded by Raquel and Sofia. Raquel and Sophia are twins and have been best friends since childhood. Since they were kids this dynamic duo feeds each other’s creativity. They also ended up studying fashion at the same university. In that time, they developed a strong vision of what SIZ is.
The brand’s studio is located in Portugal, in the beautiful village of Sesimbra, close to the mountains and the sea. Amid this wonderful nature, the siblings get all their ideas, study all the background work and design their collections. They make the formulas for the garments themselves and shape them until they are perfect. They then cut the fabrics and sew them with passion and love. If the sisters ever need outside help, they will only hire local experts to help.
The twins get their inspiration from nature, from its beauty. But also from the horrors that happen to it. Climate change is reflected in their clothing. Raquel and Sophia seek ways to bring out the problems of the eco-disaster and shake consumers. The over-consumption of plastic, polluted nature and seas. The melting of glaciers and global warming are examples of grueling themes on which SIZ wants to take action.
SIZ’s collections are made from carefully selected materials and the twins have very high-quality standards. The collections are made from organic cotton, linen, or hemp. SIZ also uses as many deadstock fabrics of other Portuguese brands as possible.
SIZ makes urban and casual creations suitable for city life. The beautiful colors of the clothes bring joy to the wardrobe for years and years.
