Catalina J

Catalina J is a Brussels-based fashion brand founded in 2016. The brand’s founder, Catalina Jitaru, worked on mass and fast fashion for several years before founding her brand. After seeing that side of the garment industry, Catalina began to think about responsible consumption and garment industry ethics.

Catalina thinks ethics and responsibility are here to stay. She thinks it’s a philosophy that each of us can live with and that everyone can choose.

Already at a young age, Catalina was interested in crafts, colors, and shapes. She was a talented designer and when she graduated from high school, she began pursuing a career as a fashion designer.

Catalina J offers limited edition collections designed to fit perfectly for each body, to sculpt the fabrics, and tailor with special care for detail. The head designer of the brand, Catalina Jitaru, develops a refined construction of actual silhouette with elaborated crafted lines and her key inspiration comes from Couture sewing techniques.

The brand concept focuses around a strong and smart, yet wearable look which empowers women's personality and defines a contemporary individual aesthetic. A poetic yet minimalistic tone underlines the collections with simple but expressive structured shapes. Unique pieces channeling modernity and classic style unveil a new cool form of femininity and encourage the women to shape a taste for visionary minimalism.

Catalina J represents a thought-provoking spirit identified with clean, polished, and comfortable silhouettes featuring unexpected soft-edge details.
